Helioverse Innovations Japan Selected for NEDO NEP “Accelerated Course” 2025

Helioverse Innovations Japan has been selected for the NEDO NEP (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization of Japan) Accelerated Course 2025.
Through this program, Helioverse Innovations Japan will collaborate with the National Cerebral and Cardiovascular Center and Waseda University to initiate the development of the world’s first fully implantable, cable-free artificial heart system.
Ventricular assist devices represent one of the most highly regulated and technically demanding areas in the medical device field. Existing systems rely on external driveline cables, which can significantly impact patients’ quality of life and increase the risk of infection.
By eliminating the power cable, this project aims to restore “ordinary life” to patients with severe heart failure through Japan-born medical technology, while addressing long-standing clinical and engineering challenges in mechanical circulatory support.
This selection represents an important milestone for Helioverse Innovations as we advance toward a next-generation, minimally invasive, and fully implantable artificial heart solution.
We sincerely appreciate the continued support of our partners, collaborators, and the broader medical and engineering communities.
